About Domicilia
Domicilia is a Portuguese application for managing domestic employment. It handles payroll processing, the Social Security filing, holiday management and task organisation.
At Domicilia we believe in dignifying domestic work. Domestic service has had its own legislation in Portugal since 1992, and is still treated as an informal arrangement. The application was built so that the relationship is formal by default, without demanding technical knowledge from the employer or patience from the worker.
It serves both parties to the employment relationship. Employers keep the contract, the payments and each month's filing obligations in one place. Workers have their own access to payslips and holiday records, without depending on the employer to see them.
Founder
Nelson Lima founded Domicilia in 2026, after seeing how hard domestic employment is to manage: the salary calculation and the Social Security filing were redone by hand every month, holiday records were not centralised, and every absence meant correcting that month's payment.
